Help Your Body Activate Digestion Early

Upon rising drink the juice of one or two fresh lemons in a glass of warm water. This simple yet powerful ritual of a morning lemon water cleanse has great health benefits. Apart from alkalizing the body, and giving yourself a boost of hydration, you are also increasing your vitamin C concentration. This aids your body in the absorption of nutrients from your food intake that follows, such as breakfast. Lemon water helps to begin peristalsis, the wave-like motion of the digestive tract that moves digested food along and continues into the large intestine to move undigested waste out of the body.

If you like, you can even add other beneficial superfoods to your morning lemon water cleanse. To make a morning detox, simply add a ½ tsp. chlorella powder and a pitted date if you prefer it sweet (you will need to blend it). If you want to boost your metabolism, instead of chlorella try adding 1/8 tsp. cayenne powder.  To soothe the digestive tract, and calm an acidic environment try adding a chunk of fresh aloe or 1 oz. of aloe vera juice, you may also have to add a pitted date or 1 tsp. of agave as aloe is very bitter.

Using whole plant foods to assist your body to obtain as close to perfect health as possible should always be the first line of treatment for the prevention and/or reversal of symptoms of disease.

A vegan diet when followed as a whole food plant based diet is by far the healthiest diet on the planet, and for the planet. Learn to lose weight naturally, increase your nutrient intake through the consumption of whole plant foods, and boost your immunity.
